If I make a donation, can I decide what my money is used for?

We use the money that is donated to the Food Bank to buy food on the food list that is in short supply. One week we might need fruit squash another week it could be milk or nappies.

How do I know what food to donate to the Food Bank?

We have a list of food that is given to our clients. If we are short of some items at the end of a session we post a list on our Facebook page. This is the most up to date information. If you would like more information about donations, please give us a call on

What are the reasons that professionals refer people to the Food Bank?

There are many reasons why individuals and families are in need of basic food items. Very often the professionals that are working with people are best placed to help them. They may have recently lost their job or a bank card. They may be in debt or waiting for universal credit They could be fleeing domestic violence or be an asylum seeker.

I am urgently in need of food. What should I do?

If you urgently need food we will do our best to help you. Please call 07804 406 267. If you live in S2 or S12 we can give you an emergency parcel. If you live outside this area we will signpost you to other Food Banks or organisations that could help you.

I would really like to help at the Food Bank. What should I do?

We have a pool of volunteers to make sure that we always have enough people to make the Food Bank operate smoothly. From time to time we need additional volunteers. We will post this information on our Facebook page so please "like" our page and look out for requests for more volunteers.
